This year, soft flowing waves seemed to be the go to look for the 100 degree awards show. Sofia Vergara and Kat Dennings show off curves and personify Jessica Rabbit sex appeal. Colorful, voluptuous, and smoldering hot looks.
My top looks for the night belong to Jessica Parè's and Kate Mara's chic silhouettes. Beautiful floor length gowns that spill onto the red carpet, paired with vintage inspired hairstyles reminiscent of the 1930's. I love the bold and neutral looks in makeup each of the separate looks have to complement their fashions.
My runners up for best style are Lucy Liu, dripping in metal and sparkle with a fashion ponytail and smoky eye, and Kelly Osbourne in her lavender from head to to toe marvel. Both looks were refreshing and while wearing purple hued hair can be risky but the softness of the color and hairstyle fit right in at this years awards show.
Ethereal lace and soft chignons were the go to for young starlets Anna Chlumsky and Emily Van Camp. Very classic, safe and elegant, they kept the focus on their body of work and were exactly what you would expect to see at an awards show.
Funny girls Kristen Wiig, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were serious about fashion and looking good in elegant boho chic, sexy siren and glam goddess respectively. Perhaps Patricia Fields was a regular on set at SNL?
In my maybe category are Connie Britton, with her dress that looked like unflattering knight mesh but what kept her out of my worst style category was her interesting hairdo. A half up do with pieces that wove intricately and got lost into each other kept my interest, but overall, I think she could do better. Julianna Hough, while her dress color was off in my opinion, the hair was awful. It felt like a bad rendition of "Chicago" and definitely dated her.
My worst dressed category gets the company of Hayden Panatierre with her overdone fabric dress, it did nothing for her height and tiny frame. Jena Malone tries to work the Angelina Jolie leg and falls flat with her asymmetrical gown and harsh hair color and fringe. Lena Dunham scored a win on HBO's girls, but her drapey dress did nothing for her build and her newly shorn cute cut got lost with all the print and heavy attire. Rounding out the list is the lovely Leslie Mann with her mustard, too vintage frock. While it would worm for a movie based in the 70's, it seems ill fit for the red carpet and I think she could've had much more couture selection on her ideal frame.
