Oscars 2012

Loving the black and floor length gowns baring skin that Angelina Jolie and Anna Faris wore. Sex appeal, fun and still appropriate, this is our Hollywood. Superbly styled hair keeps the silhouettes looking sharp.

Neutrals and glittering whites radiated on the red carpet. Octavia Spencer took home more than the gold tonight, she shone with perfectly parted chignon and a glamorous dress. Gwyneth Paltrow channeled Grace Kelly yet again, getting closer to becoming royalty. Jennifer Lopez was safe in this gown, loved the hair and everything from the mod riff up, still not sure how I feel about the rest of it.  Milla Jovovich looked utterly stunning in this off the shoulder number and with her effortless coiffed hair, made a memorable appearance.

The rule of not wearing red on the red carpet was broken tonight, and rightly so. Emma Stone was my least favorite, I feel like the neckline overpowered her frame. Natalie Portman and Michelle WIlliams beamed in their respective gowns, with Natalie edging her out in my opinion. Wearing vintage Dior and diamonds, she became the dress to beat tonight.

Meryl Streep looks better than she usually does here, but I feel like the proportions of this dress are wrong and look unfinished. Cameron Diaz plays it very safe in this , it's neither here nor there for me.

Also in my iffy category are Penelope Cruz and Viola Davis. The hair combined with the neckline of Penelope's dress make her look matronly and too vintage. Viola gets the color right, thought the cut of the neckline feels unflattering.

Sandra Bullock drops the ball for me here and she usually always impresses me.  I may have higher standards for her, but I feel like this dress looks billowy. Tina Fey goes classic and is seriously stylish here. Love the hair, the curves and the pose.

In my worst dressed category are Melissa Leo and Busy Phillips. Completely wrong for the Oscars, it's almost like they didn't even take it seriously. Melissa looks like she couldn't decide on what neckline to go for and so she picked both and Busy's hot pink shoes seem misplaced and asking to be featured on what not to wear.

Not all of our ladies in white were divine. Rooney Mara gets the hair right but the dress seems like wardrobe that was turned from 'The Artist'.  Shailene Woodley looks older than her young years trapped in way too much fabric.

Men's fashion is always pretty much consistent so it's only when someone, like Pharrell Williams goes above and beyond in this three piece suit, do I take notice. On the other extreme, Jonah Hill wearing monochromatic black (with off black ), doesn't do his recent weight loss justice and looked much more stylish when he was at the MTV VMA's.
Until next years #Oscars ,
Take Care!
